The Chanin Building | 122 E 42nd Street

Our team has provided FISP | Local Law 11 inspection and reporting services as a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI), along with architectural design and construction administration for numerous exterior repair and restoration projects at the Chanin Building. The scope of work has included parapet reconstruction, extensive terracotta replacement and reconstruction, structural repairs to the building’s upper buttresses, selective steel replacement, and roofing repairs. These interventions have required close coordination with landmark authorities and contractors to address complex structural and material conditions while preserving the architectural integrity of this Art Deco icon.

Landmark Status: Designated New York City Landmark by the Landmarks Preservation Commission; listed on the National Register of Historic Places
