Compose Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge | NYC
A New York City restaurant and cocktail lounge designed for an intimate, interactive dining experience within just 600 square feet. Caseworks’ design features an undulating steel wall, mirrored wood ceiling and custom glass racks, creating a dynamic backdrop for exceptional food and drinks.
Client Vision:
Transform a compact 600-square-foot lobby space into a functional full-service gourmet restaurant and bar centered around an intimate "Chef's Table" dining experience for up to 15 guests for one nightly seating.
Craft a high-design environment that reflects and supports the artistry and advanced techniques of the cutting edge cuisine of the 8- to 10-course menu, sophisticated cocktail program, and exclusivity of the high-end clientele.
Create an atmosphere of warm hospitality blending the standards of Michelin-starred service against the dynamic background of an open kitchen with elevated chef/mixologist/guest interaction
Our Delivery:
Designed an interactive space centered on a horseshoe-shaped bar complete with customized ice wraparound ice tray and bespoke leather and marble detailing
Created and drafted structural plan for all bar elements to ensure compatibility with all service and storage requirements
Created fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with custom-designed equipment and storage, along with new high-efficiency HVAC system, to fit the limited footprint of the available space
Designed and oversaw crafting of tailored, handcrafted suspended metal glass-rack which incorporated the restaurant logo as a design element
Incorporated custom lighting solution into glass rack maximizing the functionality of this central design feature
Designed and constructed coffered ceiling with antique mirrors to expand the visual space
Designed custom handcrafted undulating steel wall which enclosed the space from the building lobby, which also incorporated a refurbished historic entry door
